Pastoral Staff
Bob Travis began serving as Lead Pastor of Bible Fellowship in August 2008, where his visionary leadership is helping equip the church to effectively carry out the Great Commission. His desire is to build a church that is passionate about seeing lives changed as people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their relationship with him. His philosophy of ministry is based on the foundational principles that biblical teaching is critical to the spiritual life and health of the church, and that ministry without prayer will have little eternal significance. His vision for BFC includes building strong community within the church family that promotes growth in Christ. He also desires to help mobilize the church to engage both its community and the world with the gospel of Christ.
Bob provides leadership to the elders and staff in the development and implementation of the church’s vision, strategic plan and ministry plans. He also oversees the worship and preaching ministries and shares in the pulpit responsibilities on a regular basis.
Bob is a graduate of Penn State and enjoyed a successful 9-year career in marketing before making the decision to go into full-time ministry. After earning a Master of Theology in Pastoral Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary, he served on the pastoral staff of two other churches before coming to Bible Fellowship. Bob and his wife, Janet, reside in Yardley with their three sons.
Tom Allen has served as the Teaching Pastor of Bible Fellowship since July 2005. His passion for preaching comes out of his belief that relevant, Christ-centered teaching promotes spiritual growth and points people to Christ. He focuses on expository preaching, which is the verse by verse teaching through books of the Bible that ensures believers get the whole counsel of God and not just certain topics out of balance. Tom believes that God has gifted all believers for the work of the ministry and therefore a high priority of the local church should be to help people recognize their gifts, develop them and be trained for the work of ministry. Tom’s love for the Lord is exhibited in his gift of evangelism and desire to share Christ with all who will listen.
Tom also serves full-time as Associate Professor of Cairns University. He is an alumnus of PBU and holds a Master of Theology in New Testament Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. Tom and his wife, Tammy, live in Langhorne and have three children.
In his role as Pastor of Student Ministries, Jason Heim is able to help students develop a relationship with Christ that is intimate and lasting, challenge them to continually grow as disciples, as well as teach them how to share the gospel with their friends and family members. His desire is to create a ministry to youth that is both culturally relevant and life changing, drawing on the truths of Scripture and the power of the Holy Spirit to transform the lives of teens. His passion to know, love and serve the only true God spurs him to lead by example and build into the lives of both his youth staff and the teenagers he serves.
Jason also serves as Pastor of Worship at Bible Fellowship. His oversight of the praise band and involvement in worship planning allow him to use his musical skills and experience to lead the congregation into a deeper understanding and involvement in worship. His desire is for each person in each service to experience the presence and majesty of God in such a way that they are changed and their life enriched as they bring glory to God through the act of worship.
Jason joined the staff of Bible Fellowship in January 2006, and both the youth and worship ministries have flourished under his leadership. He is a graduate of Messiah College and earned his Master of Divinity from Bethel Seminary of the East in 2004. Jason and his wife, Leah, have a lively home in Levittown, PA, with their four young children.
Mary Jo Dennis and her husband, Rich, came to Bible Fellowship in 2006. In November 2010, Mary Jo was hired as Interim Director of Children's Ministries and in May 2011, she joined our staff as Co-Director of Children's Ministries. Mary Jo has had a love for the Lord since she was young and she has a passion for nurturing and reaching children for Christ.
Mary Jo has a BA from the College of New Rochelle and a MS in Christian Counseling from Cairn University. Mary Jo and her family made many moves with the USAF before settling in the Philadelphia area. She and her husband, Rich, live in Yardley, PA and are the parents of 4 grown children and the grandparents of 4 children (with more expected).
Janet Miller and her husband, Scott, came to Bible Fellowship in 2002. In January 2012, Janet joined our staff as Co-Director of Children's Ministries. Janet began a relationship with Jesus Christ as a young child and has served the Lord in various ministries before beginning this position. She has a heart for children and their families and wants to encourage both in their walk with Christ.
Janet has a BS in both Bible and Elementary Education from Cairn University. She also received an MS in Education from Cairn. She has spent the last five years home being 'mommy'. Prior to that she taught elementary school for 13 years. Janet was born and raised in Newtown, PA and still lives there currently with her husband, Scott, and two young children.
Bethany recently joined the team at Bible Fellowship in 2012 in the role of Church Administrator. Bethany was raised in a Christian home and in a pastor’s family and has always had a love for the church and church ministry. After almost nine years of serving in several leadership and administrative roles at Cairn University, Bethany is excited to join the staff of Bible Fellowship. She brings a passion and love for people to her current role and looks to enthusiastically provide leadership and oversight in the office at Bible Fellowship.
Bethany has enjoyed opportunities to serve the local church for several years in different leadership roles in young adult and counseling ministries. She is currently finishing her Master’s degree in Christian Counseling from Cairn University and pursuing her Licensed Associate Counselor license from the State of New Jersey.
She currently lives in Mount Holly, NJ and loves to frequent the state of Maine where her parents live and her dad is still a pastor. She has a particular love for hiking, camping, mountains, good books, coffee shops, travel, music, and her family and friends. She openly admits that the way to her heart is through a cup of good coffee, and she looks forward with joy to serving with the team at Bible Fellowship.
Mindy Mason joined the staff of Bible Fellowship in January 2006 as Administrative Assistant. She serves the pastoral and ministry staff, ministry leaders and church family as she oversees a multitude of administrative responsibilities that includes church-wide communications, ministry publications, and website updates. For her personal as well as professional development, she completed a rigorous two-year program to earn a Certificate in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary of the East. Mindy and her husband, Rick, reside in Levittown, PA, and have two adult sons.
Becky joined our staff in March 2010 after serving for several years in an administrative role to the Bible Department at Cairn University. Her primary responsibilities here at BFC include providing support to our children’s and youth ministries, along with our expanding small group ministry. Her duties also include data entry in our church management software, which provides valuable ministry information to the staff and ministry leaders. She assists with the administration of our KidsSafe program, and works with the staff on follow-up and assimilation of guests and newcomers to BFC.
Becky has a love for God and a heart for people that has led her to serve in a variety of ministry roles over the years in the local church alongside her husband, Paul. They currently reside in Newtown, PA, and have three adult children.
Nancy joined the staff at Bible Fellowship in the spring of 2011 to fill the newly created role of Financial Administrator. She and her husband Rich currently live in Ewing, NJ with their two young children.
Tracy joined the staff of Bible Fellowship in a part-time role in the fall of 2009 to meet a very specific need we were experiencing. With the expansion of our website as one of our short-term goals, the need for a creative and artistic graphic designer became evident. Along with ongoing work on the church’s website, Tracy uses her talents and artistic flair to prepare ministry brochures, flyers, and other publicity materials as requested by the staff.
Tracy has over 20 years of experience in the graphic design field. She earned a BA degree in Graphic Design from The College of New Jersey and has been self-employed as a freelance graphic designer for the past twelve years.
